The midfielder is keen to join the Premier League side but Inter are holding out for £44m with United only ready to pay around £35m.
It has been claimed Perisic has already agreed terms with United over a move and is hoping the clubs can agree on a fee.
And Spalletti admits he’ll hold talks to where his head’s at.
“I will speak to everyone and clearly for those who are ‘distracted’ there will be different words,” he said.
“I will listen to him, I have no doubts. I am counting on him, but we’ll have to understand his intentions.
“It would not be nice for me to hear him say words like: ‘I want to leave’. We’ll see. You keep talking about Perisic and his desire to leave, but first I need to listen to his own words and then we’ll decide how to act.
“In any case, I will say this: We are Inter and we can opt to make different decisions compared to ideas of the players. I hope to have him in the side, I am counting on it and I am positive in that sense.”
United have flown out to America for their pre season tour where they will meet up with new recruit Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku underwent a medical in LA this morning and should be unveiled as a United player on Monday.
He will become Jose Mourinho’s second summer signing following the arrival of Victor Lindelof.
And Mourinho would like Perisic on board as he looks to improve his attacking options.
The 28-year-old is a winger but can play as a second striker and has been at Inter since signing from Wolfsburg in 2015.
